Directions to St. Ignatius
Coming from the south:Get on 280 north and stay to the left where it splits so you can get on 19th Ave. which is Highway 1. (instead of going to the right which takes you downtown). This will get you on 19th Ave. headed north (stay in the left lanes, don't veer right onto Juniperro Serra). Stay on 19th Ave. until you get to Taraval. You want to go go left on Taraval, but you can't--no left turns allowed--so take a right followed by a u-turn. Anyway, head west (toward the ocean/beach) on Taraval. Take it down to 37th Ave. (just past the big boulevard called Sunset). Turn right on 37th Ave. Go two blocks to Rivera. The campus runs two blocks (from Rivera through Pacheco). Park where you can and use the entrance where Quintara dead ends into the building. Go up to the third floor to Room 310. Coming from the east: 1) If you are south of the San Mateo Bridge/Highway 92 it's really easier to take this west past 101 all the way to 280 north and proceed as above. 2) Otherwise after you come across the Oakland Bay Bridge stay on 101 south to where you can split off to the right onto 280 south (toward Daly City). Take the Monterey exit. Go straight onto Monterey. Veer to the right onto Santa Clara at the point at which you would have to make a left turn to stay on Monterey. Santa Clara crosses Portola, and then it changes names to become Vicente. Once on Vicente you cross West Portal and then you will be crossing numbered avenues. Go all the way down to 37th Ave. and turn right. Go 4 blocks to Rivera. The campus runs two blocks (from Rivera through Pacheco). Park where you can and use the entrance where Quintara dead ends into the building. Go up to the third floor to Room 310. Coming from the north: Come across the Golden Gate Bridge and take the 19th Ave./Highway 1 turnoff almost immediately after the toll booths. You will travel south on Park Presidio Drive, through Golden gate park, and come out headed south on 19th Ave. When you get to Taraval, turn right and proceed toward the ocean/beach to 37th Ave. Turn right on 37th Ave. Go two blocks to Rivera. The campus runs two blocks (from Rivera through Pacheco). Park where you can and use the entrance where Quintara dead ends into the building. Go up to the third floor to Room 310. NOTE IF COMING FROM THE EAST: I just want to emphasize that for those of you coming from the East Bay, coming across the San Mateo Bridge/Highway 92 until you get to 280 north is MUCH easier than the other way. Even if you are slightly north of the east side of the San Mateo Bridge, it's well worth the extra distance doubling back to reduce the risk of getting getting lost--and the traffic is always MUCH lighter coming up 280 than it would be using the Bay Bridge and 101.
