I was born and raised in Prunedale California. This is a picture of the side yard of the house where my mother still lives. Even though she is in her 80's, she still goes out and putters in the garden. My mother lives over the hill and down the road a little ways from the house my grandfather built and where she was born. Prunedale is a little community about 10 miles north of Salinas.
This is a picture of Emma and my brother George Hobby at Mt. Vernon in June 1989 (larger).

My friend and colleague, Gary Wagman, died of AIDS in April 1995 having lived with the illness for over 11 years. Several of his friends and family members held a memorial to him on October 8, 1995 at the Pinnacles National Monument, a place that had great spirtual meaning to him. We all miss him greatly.
